Because you have a business, you are going to be working with people, and it’s inevitable you’ll come across many positive types of people, and many negative types of people.

In your business journey, you come across those wonderful people who are easy to work with, and you also, unfortunately, come across people who are never satisfied. It doesn’t matter what you do; in fact, the more you do, the more they demand. And then, unavoidably, they write a negative review!

Don’t fret if you receive a negative review. If a company has only positive reviews, that’s actually a bigger worry… companies with only positive reviews appear as they fake their reviews.  Its the healthy mix of lots of positive reviews and a few negative ones that portray a real and appealing business to customers.

So if you get a negative review, below is a two step recipe for the cure:

1. Respond to it professionally and thoroughly. Usually readers will see how the negative person is one of the unreasonable type of people. Also a reasonable client may reverse their review when responded to professionally and properly. Your professional response also prepares you for Counsel in the future if it heads that way.
2. Balance it with positive reviews – ask happy people and reasonable clients for reviews. More positive reviews are more important than a few negative reviews. Usually the more positive reviews there are, the few negative ones are in the minority, and look more like they came from a few crazies!
