The 2-Second Rule:

Misconception: I’m spending money with Google, Yahoo, and other search engines, so my website will be placed at the top of search results, and clients make appointments with me for service. I’m gonna be so busy and my business will grow so fast! Woohoo!

Fact: Low traffic can be compensated for by ads, essentially purchasing links to your site at various places over the internet. But the catch is, if no one actually visits your site after clicking, and no one contacts you after visiting your website and social media pages, you will not get any more business.

manclockHow to solve this problem: The best way to get people to visit your site and contact you is simply to:

1.  present compelling visual content that a) captures readers’ attention within the first 2 seconds, b) so you can inform readers, c) highlight your unique story, c) showcase how you can bring readers value with your services

2. present clear and concise site descriptions that will catch search engines

So do EVERYTHING you can to capture your reader’s attention within the first 2 seconds! Really, this is in BOLD because this is the only way for you to get a chance to tell the world what you do. Otherwise all your time and efforts will GONE TO WASTE. You’ll gain a better chance at getting good search results, readers clicking to visit your site, as well as readers actually contacting you for service!

How to do this: No one wants to read anymore. So the only option left is to use a storytelling visual flyer/graphic that will catch people’s attention right away! Search engines and web search crawlers recognize and reward unique content as well. The visuals tells a story that creates interest, generates traffic and also links to the article.  Don’t forget to index those graphics thoroughly with descriptive terms for the search engines; we may be living in the era of enhanced machine intelligence, but Google still needs help in understanding what that graphic is all about. And people, who are not machines, want a compelling reason to spend time with you rather than others!
